The following was taken from the My Kettering web page:
Dr. Bahram Roughani and Dr. Uma Ramabadran (Physics) have a Valentine’s gift for anyone who owns a diamond. Bring your diamond to 1-905 AB (the Raman Lab, near the International Office) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday, Valentine’s Day, and have the gem’s validity tested using laser spectroscopy. The free examination is non-destructive and will ID the stone as a real diamond. “This is nondestructive testing for the diamond, but maybe not so for the relationship,” joked Dr. Roughani.
